custom catamarans

Our only limitation is your imagination

In other words we build the boat you want and need. We can take the boat you own now and transform its appearance with our high quality customized towers or we can build you a catamaran designed specifically for you. ACC uses a computer program to take our hull design and with a few keystrokes make a 65' cat or a 21' cat. This use of technology allows us to take a base hull in any size, design the rest of your boat, and have the aluminum laser cut. Laser cuts take less time, waste less metal and produce a tight fitting seam to weld, costing our customers less money in labor, materials, and produce a cleaner and stronger catamaran.

The first catamaran manufactured by ACC was the endurance, a towboat designed for its stability, power and speed. Pictured second from the left Endurance has been in service for six years. Operated by Captain John Bailey of Solomons Marine Towing http:/www.baileywick.org, a Tow Boat US organization. Endurance is a 31' cat powered with twin 225 hp mercury optimax.

Our largest accomplishment to date has been the manufacture of The Bay King III, a charter boat built for Dale Scheible of Ridge, Maryland. The Bay King III is Coast Guard certified for 149 passengers. Having a hull length of 65' with a deck of 85' and a beam 27' long the Bay King III is the largest boat built and launched in Solomons' recent history. This catamaran cruises at 35 knotts, it is equipped with twin 1100 hp MAN diesel engines, and two model 450 Ultra Jet jet drives.

Cobb Island Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad recently acquired boat 6, a catamaran designed for fire and rescue service. Equipped with a Hale water pump ( 1500 gal per min ) that supplies the deck gun as well as the port and starboard fire hoses, this cat will cruise at 32 knotts and in emergency situations tops out at 40 knotts. 31'in length with a 12' beam Boat 6 is powered by twin 330B Cummins diesel engines and Ultra Jet jet drives.

Currently ACC is working on a catamaran for the National Aquarium in Baltimore. This vessel will be used for the capture and research of sharks from the Bahamas to Cape Cod. The 28' cat will be powered by twin 225 mercury optimax outboards.

A portion of our shop here at ACC is sectioned off for building custom towers, t-tops and nearly anything you could want added to the boat you currently own. We build most of our custom jobs from anodized aluminum. We work with Custom Marine Canvas for nearly all our canvas needs. Between our companies we have formed a durable lightweight top from aluminum and canvas that looks great and at the same time is cost efficient.
